NNPC Ignites Nigeria’s Energy Dream With 5 Mini LNG Plants

KANO (Kano,North West Nigeria) – In a landmark event poised to revolutionize Nigeria’s energy landscape, the NNPC would on Thursday commission five mini Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi state.
The groundbreaking ceremony scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at 12 noon in at the steel city .
A flyer from NNPC that was made available to Finenews Nigeria explained that the five mini LNG plants, namely PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete, represent a significant milestone in Nigeria’s transition from a gas-rich nation to a prosperous economy.
NNPC said This innovative project is expected to catalyze economic growth, stimulate development, and shape a sustainable energy future for Nigeria.”
The ceremony, which promises to be a watershed moment in Nigeria’s energy history, will bring together stakeholders, industry experts, and government officials to witness the commencement of this groundbreaking project.
NNPC stressed that “As Nigeria continues to navigate the complexities of the global energy market, this project demonstrates the country’s commitment to harnessing its vast gas resources to drive economic prosperity and sustainability.”
It maintained that “With the mini LNG plants poised to transform Nigeria’s energy landscape, the ceremony on January 30th is set to be a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new era in Nigeria’s journey towards energy self-sufficiency and economic growth.
