Gwamna Seeks Collective Action Against Security, Humanitarian Challenges

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO — Dr. Isiyaku Jamilu Gwamna, the APC governorship hopeful in Gombe State, has advocated stronger collaboration among governments, religious leaders and other stakeholders in confronting the security and humanitarian crises affecting communities.

Gwamna made the submission in Abuja while attending the Global Security Summit convened by the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in partnership with the Muslim World League.

The summit, which kicked off on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre, provides a platform for participants to examine emerging security threats, violent extremism, peacebuilding and ways of strengthening peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on the significance of the gathering, Dr. Gwamna said sustained dialogue among influential actors was essential to developing lasting responses to challenges that continue to threaten peace and human welfare.

He said the summit offered an opportunity for participants to share experiences, broaden their understanding of complex security issues and consider practical measures that could contribute to stability.

The Gombe APC candidate also praised the organisers for bringing together scholars, policymakers and other key stakeholders, saying the intersection of faith and responsible leadership could play an important role in advancing peace.

He expressed optimism that the discussions would generate useful recommendations for Nigeria and the wider Muslim community, as well as contribute to efforts to promote global peace and security.

Gwamna was welcomed at the summit by JIBWIS National Chairman, Sheikh Bala Lau, alongside other Islamic scholars.

Lau described the politician as a person known for humility, peaceful disposition, respect and consciousness of Allah.
