Faleke, Traditional Rulers Chart Course for Okun Land’s Progress

KANO — The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has said sustained collaboration with traditional institutions remains critical to accelerating development in Okun Land and the Kogi West Senatorial District.
Faleke made the remark after receiving a delegation of traditional rulers from Yagba East on a courtesy visit to his residence, where discussions, according to him, focused on the region’s development priorities and the need to sustain peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among its people.
“Our discussions centered on the progress and well-being of Okun Land and Kogi West, as well as the importance of fostering peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among our people,” Faleke said.
The federal lawmaker described the royal fathers as indispensable partners in community development, expressing appreciation for their guidance and continued confidence in his leadership.
“I sincerely thank our revered Royal Fathers for their invaluable words of wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering support. Their counsel remains deeply appreciated and inspiring,” he stated.
The meeting comes amid renewed efforts by stakeholders in Kogi West to deepen engagement between elected officials and traditional institutions in pursuit of sustainable development, social cohesion and grassroots-driven governance across Okun Land.
